Ok so apparently...I no longer know how to smile in photos??  Whenever I take blog photos, I try to do a slight smile, but then when I see the photos I look like this.  I think when Whit and I got to take photos together, it felt more natural...we are usually laughing anyway!  Now that she has been super busy working (although we are going to finally hang out again this weekend!!!), we have been taking more photos separately.  Smiling just feels so unnatural when you are taking photos alone :/

INSPO // Gingham

Click image to go to source.

Since we have been wearing and style-stalking gingham so much lately (as you can see from recent posts), we thought we might as well do a whole inspo/shopping post.  There are so many ways to wear it....skirt, crop top, playsuit...it all looks cute!

Actual Pockets with Filson

ReadyTwoWear: Filson Libby Bomber Jacket ReadyTwoWear: How to style a bomber jacket On Mal: c/o Filson Libby Bomber, Forever 21 Lace Crop Top (old), c/o Furla Mini Metropolis, Gap Wide Leg Crop Jeans, Ralph Lauren Collection Platform Espadrilles (old), Mango Tear Earrings,  Karen Walker Harvest Sunglasses

I have been aware of Filson for a while because my brother Tyler is a devotee (he cannot say enough about their canvas bags and backpacks). I was not aware they had a women's clothing line that launched in 2016.

Filson is a very function-driven brand, making all-weather, quality pieces (I mean...they were founded in 1897 as a "complete outfitter for miners, prospectors,  and lumbermen").  You can definitely see their roots in the styles they offer.  Oh...also, they offer a Filson LIFETIME guarantee, so you can feel confident about your purchase.

I selected the Libby Bomber  because bombers are timeless (or at the very least they always come back into style). It is a lighter jacket that is perfect for spring/summer over a top, but is also roomy enough to fit a sweater underneath for chillier months. But honestly, one of the main reasons I really like this jacket...it has SO many pockets. It is a big pet peeve of mine (and most women) that women's clothes often have tiny or non-functional pockets.  This jacket has two front button-closure pockets (as you can see), and behind those are hand pockets (with a liner to keep your hands warm!) and INSIDE the jacket there is another zip pocket.  I have worn this jacket out and FORGONE A PURSE. Incredible. It was nice to experience some male fashion privilege.

We are in a gingham mood...two posts in a row! I like how Whit's post and mine are only a week apart, but you can see how much the weather has changed.  We've been enjoying a warm patch the past weekend and I have been enjoying being able to skip the jacket (although I have been itching to break out my own Filson jacket...stay tuned).
