Guess where I took these photos...behind a Chevy's.

Probably the nicest 'behind a Chevy's' that I am aware of. It's a very secluded spot to take photos by the water (which you actually can't really see in these photos because of the lighting), as long as you don't mind the Chevy's patrons staring at you from the window.

Let's talk about the long struggle to get this shirt.  I had pinned this shirt a while back from the Forever website when it was sold out.  I added myself to the waitlist (twice) because every time I got a 'back in stock' notification, it was already sold out by the time I got online...once within 10 minutes after getting the email.  Then it completely disappeared from the website.  So, I did a search on Amazon to see if I could find a similar top.  I found this one here.  I did not, however, realize that it was shipping from China because I am dumb and didn't look at the shipping times on the seller page.  SO after a long wait I did get the shirt and it is pretty much the same quality as I would have expected from Forever 21 (maybe it even came from the same factory??), but the wait time was less than ideal.  I linked the Forever one up top because as soon as I ordered from Amazon it magically reappeared. Of course.

Fall Poncho with Old Navy

On Mal: c/o Old Navy Open-Front Wool Blend Poncho in Forest Green and Grid Scarf, c/o Timex Dress Chronograph (sold out/similar),  Pour La Victoire Elie Mini, J. Crew Factory Skinny Jeans, Zara Pointed Lace-Up Ballerinas and Top with Neckline Detail

When I was picking out a color for this poncho, I was vacillating between the black check and this solid green.  As usual, I opted for green (go with what you like, right?).  The problem is, so much of my fall wardrobe is green that it can be hard to build an outfit without looking like a crayon.  Green boots, green jeans, green jackets.

Having gone with my favorite color though, I have already worn this poncho several times.  It is a perfect layer over a short sleeve top for the current weather, and will be great over sweaters when it gets cooler.  It feels like a blanket with all the fabric...very cozy!

Take a look at all of Old Navy's Ponchos here!

Transitioning Shorts into Fall with BB Dakota

Photos by Rene

Even though it has yet to feel like Fall here in the East Bay (it was in the 80s yesterday!), I have started to try to dress more for the season it technically is.  If not for weather, then for basically no reason other than that Fall colors are my favorite.

I love the color and structure of this top I scored off of BNKR, but have had a hard time finding bottoms to pair with it, as it is both boxy and cropped.  BB Dakota to the rescue.  I don't even think you can tell how cropped it is because these shorts are so high-waisted (I would even pass the hands-above-your-head-show no-skin elementary school dress code rule).  Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a good crop, but I find crop tops somewhat limiting...especially as the months get into the double digits.  That being said, it has been in the 70s and 80s, so these shorts were perfect to keep me cool and balance out the structured top.

Shopping Guide: LuisaViaRoma x Lookmazing

Have you guys checked out Lookmazing? Not only is there serious fashion and beauty inspiration, it is also a great place to shop...and win contests! I was super excited to find out that I had won the NYFW LuisaViaRoma $1000 giveaway.  Seriously...I never win anything.  The only other luck-of-the-draw contest I have won was a raffle in the fifth grade for a basket full of stuffed animals.

So lately I have been stalking the site to try and decide what I want...and there are so many pretty things I cannot decide!

Should I spend over and get something timeless like the Drew Bag, or split it between the couple pieces.  What would you guys do?  Use it towards something big or go for smaller splurges? Above are my favorite picks so far, but they are adding new items everyday.  Check the whole site out here...they offer free shipping and beautifully package each order!

Old Oakland

Photos by Rene

Old Oakland is one my favorite areas in the East Bay.  With good food (I love The Cook and Her Farmer) and adorable historic buildings, it is a great place to get lunch.  It is also right next to the Oakland Flower Market so you can grab some blooms for slightly cheaper than a traditional florist!
