Fall Finds with SFGoodwill

This post was sponsored by Goodwill. All opinions are our own.

On Whit: Oak + Fort Grid Print Shift Dress via Goodwill (West Portal Location)
On Mal: Self Portrait Asymmetrical Top via Goodwill (West Portal Location, designer section)

Those who have been following us for a long time will remember the days when we would wear outfits that were exclusively thrifted. The thrill of finding something and figuring out how to make it work has always been a fun challenge.

Now that we are older, we don't have the time to go sifting through the racks at giant shops like Thrift Town (RIP), which is why it is nice to have Goodwill boutiques in San Francisco. With a more curated selection (including some designer stuff), it is actually easy to find can't-believe-this-is-here pieces.

Case in point -- this dress from Oak + Fort literally still had tags on it in the Goodwill store....so for $20 this was a huge steal. Also THE Self Portrait top. Bless the SF lady who decided to give this up to Goodwill...we still can't believe we found it! Other finds included matching cashmere tops for $20 (stay tuned, they will probably show up in our feed soon), and a button silk top (also still with tags). We also found some great Zara, Madewell and J.Crew stuff for super cheap.

When we posted our finds on our insta stories, someone immediately responded with "I feel like I never find anything!" and if you feel that way, we say check out Goodwill in SF (especially the West Portal location) because you will be surprised!

Beret in Monterey

Whoops -- long time, no post. Life has been moving fast for the both of us...between work, weddings, and new nieces and nephews, it has been hard to keep up with posting. We are ~slightly~ more active on Instagram, but want to get back to posting soon (or at least after Whitney's wedding...she has lot's of planning to do, and I still have a speech to write).

At any rate, the most important thing I have been up to is becoming that girl who wears berets. I wore it to work a couple times, and of course got teased by my coworkers -- one told me I just need to start carrying around an artist's palette. But I am not deterred...I like my outfits to be one accessory away from a halloween costume.

Rooftop Views

On Whit: Madewell polka dot tank via Nordstrom Rack, Levi's ribcage straight ankle jeans via outlets ($40!), Arno Cooperative star mules, San Diego Hat Company hat

On Mal: Lucky Brand Bridgette Crop Jean (size down), Anthropologie Camisole (old), All Saints Balfern Leather jacket (color sold out, Suede version here), Marc Fisher boots (old, similar below)

If you haven't already noticed our obsession with wide leg denim recently, here are a couple more styles that we've found to be flattering. The Levi's ribicage fit is super high waisted without looking too mom jean-like and Whit looks taller! The non stretchy material and raw hem gives it a more vintage look. But if you go for a more stretchy fit, Lucky has some cute styles on sale, like the pair Mal is wearing (size down, Mal's pair has stretched out a little too much).

Shopping // Wide Leg Crops

Wide leg pants are one of our wardrobe essentials. And if you get a cropped pair, it even works for petites (like us). The Madewell Emmett is one of our favorites, but we've been toying with trying out the Everlane pair as well!

Straw Hat, Summer Grass

On Mal: H&M Knit Dress, Lucky Brand Oversized Denim Trucker Jacket, Staw Hat (similar), Vintage Basket bag

Photos by Tyler

The weather has been so hot and cold lately, that of course when we shot these photos the wind starte blowing. Peanut wanted to go find the source of the rustling in the grass (ground squirrel) but was generally pretty good at sitting still for some photos.

Styling Drapey Pants

I found these tie waist pants at Anthro on sale for $25 a few months ago and couldn't resist. I have been going through a loose-pants phase, and not only because I put on a few lbs after starting my new job lol.  Even though they feel like pajamas, draped pants look fancier than denim.

I've found these to pair well with both fitted tops for a formal look, and loose tops like the one I'm wearing if you're feeling more casual (or bloated).

On Mal: Anthropologie Tie Waist Jacquard Ankle Trousers (old, similar),  H&M Ribbed Sweatshirt (old), Forever 21 Ball Hoop Earrings (old), Zara slides (old, similar), JW Anderson Medium Pierce Bag
