While looking pants shopping for my boyfriend, we wandered into J.Crew and found there was an additional 50% off sale. So obviously I found some stuff for myself...including these amazing pointed calf-hair Collection heels! Sometimes it pays off to have unusually small feet!

Stuck in Stripes

On Mal: H&M striped top (on sale in store for $10...they are having a big sale right now), Thrifted foldover skirt and leopard belt, hand me down Louis Vuitton bag, Zara Basic flats (similar)

I want to start off by saying I swear I have other shoes...but these just go with everything so I have been wearing them to death.  I should have bought two pairs.

Same goes with stripes, I have been wearing them nonstop. As I mentioned last post, when I was shopping I only gravitated towards black and white stripes, not even realizing until I hit the dressing room.  I am a strong believer that if you really like something, you should buy multiples. Which is why I bought two of this striped top. And why I have two of my short sleeved striped top. And two pairs of the same sandals.

Show your stripes

(click on the photos to go to source)

Stripes add instant style in our opinion. A simple outfit, like jeans and a tee, suddenly become uber chic when that tee has stripes.  Mal recently went shopping and realized she was trying on three striped tops (and was already wearing her go-to striped tee).  You can never have too many, buy in bulk!

Ripped

on Mal: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Leopard Tuxedo Shirt, Thrifted denim, Windsor Store Lace Up Heels, ebay necklace

I have a complicated relationship with ripped denim. When I was in junior high school, I thought ripped  (probably Abercrombie or Hollister) jeans were the coolest. It would take forever for them to wear out just right. However, as soon as they would rip, my mom would deem these as unacceptable and put them into the goodwill pile.

So now, I have an aversion to ripped denim.  When I am perusing denim, I halfway feel (as my mother did/does) that I shouldn't spend money on something that is already destroyed.

I got these jeans from Goodwill (full circle), thinking that I shouldn't feel guilty if they are only six bucks. However, being from Goodwill, they are far from the perfectly ripped and stonewashed denim that I am looking for...perhaps I should attack them with some bleach as well, and squeeze the remaining life they have out of them.
