Gingham

On Mal: Anthropologie Checked Blouse (old, similar here and linked below), Gucci GG Marmont Small Leather Bag, J. Crew Lookout Highrise Cropped Jeans (on sale!), Public Desire Karis Flats (sold out, similar here), Karen Walker Harvest Sunglasses, NYX Lip Lingerie in Exotic

Photos by Ty

So I got these jeans on super sale in-store at J. Crew a while back, and did not realize they were supposed to be cropped until looking them up to link here.  I should have realized when I put them on and there weren't tubes extending past my feet...

Vested Interest

Photos by Rene

My mom is probably shaking her head at my midriff right now (sorry, Mom).

Normally I don't go for full-price items at Anthro, but this vest is so worth it...especially considering it was a bday gift from my BF!  I love the fall color, and it is still lightweight enough to wear in the current heat. It is the perfect transitional piece.  I think it will be pretty versatile; it would look cute over a (striped) dress and I plan on wearing it with long sleeved tops once it gets colder.

P.s. Sorry for the post hiatus but I have been having wifi issues that I will refrain ranting about here.

Lampshade

on Mal: Forever 21 Contemporary Fringe Dress, J. Crew Sandals (sold out in gold but available in hologram!), Delfonics Pouch, Karen Walker Harvest Sunglasses, Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bella c/o Birchbox

Photos by Ty

If you couldn't already tell by these two posts, I love fringe. It has great movement and feels so airy.  That being said, this fringe is made of loops that literally got caught on everything.  Every. Single. Cabinet. Knob.

On another note, let's talk about this lipstick! It sets really quickly and feels more like a stain then a lipstick...a big plus for hot summer days. The description on Birchbox states, ' Take care when you apply because once it sets, it'’s not budging!' and they are not kidding. If you mess up, it is a pain because the name of this product is truly accurate.

Checkmate

On Mal: Zara Coat (on sale here), The Skies are Blue Checkmate Pant via Piperlime (sold out, similar here), H&M top, Pour La Victoire bag (via Saks Off Fifth), J. Crew Collection Leopard Kitten Heels (Similar), Forever 21 Hello Cuff, Bauble Bar Lashed Out Earring Jackets.

Photos by Rene

We have said it before, we will say it again: grid print is everything. Paired with solids, patterns or another check print (as seen on Atlantic-Pacific) it's all good!

Check out our other grid print looks:

P.S. The pants seen on Blair (linked above) I assumed were super expensive, so imagine my excitement when I found the exact pair in the Piperlime sale section :).

Flapper

On Mal: c/o Tobi Back to the Twenties Dress, Thrifted wool blazer, J. Crew Collection Leopard Heels (Similar),  c/o Juliet & Co Taylor Necklace

Photos: Tyler

Channeling a flapper, or maybe a lampshade in this Tobi dress.  I haven't made any definite halloween plans yet, but if I don't end up making this (awesome) Groot costume, then I can always go as a Gatsby girl!

Sale Trophies

On Mallory: J. Crew Stripe-Sleeve Scoopneck Tee and Collection Calf-Hair Leopard heels, Joe's Jeans, Forever 21 Rhinestone Necklace and rings, Essie Find me an Oasis nail polish c/o Le Tote

Photos by Tyler Watkins and Annie Hall

While looking pants shopping for my boyfriend, we wandered into J.Crew and found there was an additional 50% off sale. So obviously I found some stuff for myself...including these amazing pointed calf-hair Collection heels! Sometimes it pays off to have unusually small feet!

Brown

On Mal: J.Crew Striped Sweater (old) and jeans, Klub Nico Clary Booties, c/o Juliet & Co Wilma bracelet, Vintage sunnies and bag

My Family likes to tease my eldest sister for only dressing/decorating in monochrome...most often in brown.  A real conversation:

"I am thinking of getting new dining chairs."
"Okay, what color?"
"Well...The table is brown, and it has brown placemats and a bowl with decorative balls, which are also brown. I was thinking of these light brown chairs...will that match?"

The last time she visited California, she was dressed in blue jeans and a light blue blazer, blue Longchamp, and a blue-gray scarf.  But I see the appeal...you will never worry about looking mismatched when you dress like a crayon (her words). Today my crayola color is Burnt Sienna.

Dots and Spots

On Mallory: J. Crew Factory Dotted Keyhole top (On super sale here!), Gap 1969 jeans, Dolce Vita Helenna calf hair Booties, Necklace via eBay, hand-me-down bag

Photos by Tyler

Even though I am wearing nothing from Free People, this feels pretty Free People, no?

I waited seriously FOREVER for these boots to go on sale, so when I saw them on clearance at Nordstrom, with only my size left...it felt like fate.  It feels less special now that they are on 6 PM (link above) for almost as cheap, but still.

What goes with rhinestones? MORE RHINESTONES. You know me, always going for that *subtle* sparkle.

If I look a little awkward in these photos, it's because I had an impromptu audience. Between the vocal stranger yelling at me to pose like Tyra's Next Top Model and the rando photographer taking his own photos...I felt a little uncomfortable.
