I recovered from our 15+ mosquito bites from Yosemite, finally.  After the intense weekend of climbing and hiking, it was nice to have a day without plans--no errands to run, workouts at the gym, or concerts to go to.  Just a day around the neighborhood and some good o' Polly Ann ice cream.  Question: how do bloggers get such cute shots eating ice cream?  I couldn't resist eating my ice cream before it all melted.

Christmas Cruella

When I was little I had this furry black and white hat that my family called my 'Cruella De Ville' hat.  Now, years later, here I am wearing this cocoon coat.  I found it in store on sale for less than $40 (and there is currently an additional 50% off sale online right now).  When I brought it up to the counter to purchase, I was wearing my other ridiculous furry coat, and the checkout woman was totally unsurprised by my purchase.

P.s. Size down in this coat...it is designed oversized so it runs large!

#MomentsOfChic with Piperlime

On Mal: c/o Piperlime Karina Grimaldi Myriame Top, H&M scalloped hem pants, Zara paperbag purse, J. Crew leopard calf hair heels (similar), c/o Juliet & co Taylor Necklace

On Whitney: c/o Piperlime Eight Sixty Gilded Tank, Topshop Sneakers, c/o Choies Clutch, J. Crew Zipper Sweater, H&M Necklace

Photos by Ty and Rene

These outfits perfectly embody the one major difference in our styles:

Mal sees sparkles, adds more sparkle with a rhinestone necklace.
Whit sees sparkles and uses it as a subtle accent, peeking out from a side-zip sweater.

Shift

On Mal: Vintage blazer, H&M Textured Sweatshirt, Forever 21 Lace Shorts, Pour La Victoire Tote via Saks Off Fifth, Windsor Lace Up Heels (sold out, love these), c/o Juliet & Co Taylor Necklace

Photos by Rene

As I have said before, I usually lean more towards white ensembles.  But, after seeing this snake-textured sweatshirt (and you know I am all about all things snakes...especially sweatshirts), I decided to give it a shot.

Flapper

On Mal: c/o Tobi Back to the Twenties Dress, Thrifted wool blazer, J. Crew Collection Leopard Heels (Similar),  c/o Juliet & Co Taylor Necklace

Channeling a flapper, or maybe a lampshade in this Tobi dress.  I haven't made any definite halloween plans yet, but if I don't end up making this (awesome) Groot costume, then I can always go as a Gatsby girl!

White Tee

Photos by Rene
Editing by Tyler

I was oscillating between buying this shirt in black or white, when my friend pointed out that I should get black because I always wear white. This is a valid point, which I ignored. I'm not sure what it is, but there is just something about crisp, clean whites that I can't get enough of.  At the very least, I resisted the urge to wear this with my white jeans...if only because I have been dressing in all white a little too often lately.

Copper-Tone

Sorry for the squints, the lighting was...less than ideal.  Also sorry for the lack of posting; photographer Rene was sick and then I got sick (not a coincidence in my opinion).  Rene says it couldn't have been from him because my cold was way shorter. I told him I was just stronger. He remains unconvinced...

I bet he is glaring at his computer screen while reading this.

At any rate, we will try to be on here a lot more!

Double Denim

On Mal: Gap chambray button-up (similar), J.Crew Factory jeans, c/o H&M suede Jodhpur booties, vintage Louis Vuitton bag, c/o Juliet & Co Wilma Bracelet, c/o Timex Dress Chronograph, H&M and Forever21 rings, eBay sunnies and necklace.

You can't go wrong in a Canadian Tuxedo...as long as your denims are two different washes.  To be extra sure I don't look like I am wearing coveralls, I like to wear a super light wash with a medium wash. Then to be extra, extra careful, I add a belt to break up the two.

Don't forget to brush your skirt

fur skirt, holiday party look, feather skirt, front row shop, agaci, rhinestone collar juliet & co wilma bracelet, flower statement bracelet, fur TW2_8137 TW2_8214
On Mal: c/o FrontRowShop Faux Fur Skirt, Agaci rhinestone collared romper (worn as a top), H&M Wool blend coat (half off here!), c/o Juliet & Company Wilma Bracelet, Forever21 Rings, Necklace via eBay

Photos by Tyler Watkins

I have actually been looking for a feather skirt, but could never find one in my price range...so I was pretty excited to find this furry one at FrontRowShop.  The fur has the same effect as feathers, but is more season-appropriate. Although seasonal dressing is not too relevant in the Bay Area...it was 70 degrees today.

I hope everyone passes a warm and happy holiday! Be sure to wear lots of rhinestones (I do anyway, but this is the time of year when my giant jewelry/sequins is actually appropriate).

P.S. There is still time to enter the Choies Giveaway...go go go!
