High Contrast

On Mal: c/o 4th & Reckless Olivia Metallic Heel Mules, H&M Trumpet Sleeve Blouse (old, similar below), Levi's 721 Skinnies, Gucci GG Marmont Small Leather Shoulder Bag (sold out, similar below).

Even after years of blogging, I still don't know all my angles. I tried to take some ~chic~ photos walking naturally up the stairs, but ended up looking like I was flailing about like the dancing tube people that are at car dealerships....alas.

The goal for those failed photos was to show off the unique heel of these 4th & Reckless mules.  Tbh they are slightly too tall for me (I have small feet so the angle gets too extreme with higher heels) but I was surprised how comfortable they were...probably because of the wide heel. I am sure if you have a bigger size than me (I wear a 6), they get even more comfy!

Holiday Brocade

on Mal: Anthropologie brocade dress (old, similar below), Gucci GG Marmont Bag (sold out, similar below), Banana Republic Faux Rabbit Scarf, H&M Lace Up Flats (sold out...might still be in store!), Soko Rembo Cuff

Photos by Ty

I found this dress on super sale at Anthro earlier this year, and although it is not the most versatile piece, I decided to go for it.  I have worn it a total of two times...once for a dinner out in NYC, and then yesterday for Christmas.   My mom commented that I looked awful fancy to be peeling and mashing potatoes.

I hope everyone had a warm and relaxing holiday! Can't wait until 2017 <3

Ruffled Lace

black and red lace outfit

Photos by Ty

While I did not do anything special this year for Halloween, I do love everything spoopy (the pumpkin dance will never not be funny).  So, to be festive, I thought this black lace top would be witch-y. At dinner, my Dad asked if I was taking up Flamenco dancing. I was going more for the old-ladies-in-the-2015-Dolce-and-Gabbana-Ad-Look, but I'll also accept flamenco dancer.

As a side note, my favorite Public Desire Karis Flats (worn here and here and a million other posts) have finally been worn to death, so I was excited to find this pair in-store at H&M for only $15.  Black lace up flats are so versatile and I cannot imagine going back to plain flats after wearing my old pair with everything.

Gingham

On Mal: Anthropologie Checked Blouse (old, similar here and linked below), Gucci GG Marmont Small Leather Bag, J. Crew Lookout Highrise Cropped Jeans (on sale!), Public Desire Karis Flats (sold out, similar here), Karen Walker Harvest Sunglasses, NYX Lip Lingerie in Exotic

Photos by Ty

So I got these jeans on super sale in-store at J. Crew a while back, and did not realize they were supposed to be cropped until looking them up to link here.  I should have realized when I put them on and there weren't tubes extending past my feet...

Lilu

Photos by Rene

Tobi is having me push out of my comfort zone, clearly.  I am feeling a bit like (a toned-down) Lilu from the Fifth Element in this top.  I like the fit and the asymmetry, I just wish it didn't get so wrinkled. Just like the cropped v, I paired this top with high waisted bottoms to avoid showing too much belly.

Breezy Sleevies with Banana Republic

On Mal: c/o Banana Republic Short Sleeve Lace Top  (also similar linked below) and Denim Skirt, c/o Soko Rembo Wishbone Cuff (Get 20% off with code READYTWOWEAR), Gucci GG Marmont Small Leather Shoulder Bag, c/o Public Desire Lace Up Karis Flats (old, similar)

Photos by Annie Hall

Ok, ever since I saw this post by Happily Grey, I have been obsessed with Self Portrait.  Unfortunately, the price point is too high for me to justify, so I was super happy to find this much more reasonable (and equally unique) lace top from Banana. The fluttery sleeves really set it apart.

Also, as you have probably also noticed, we have been on the hunt for denim skirts. This one (I ordered in petite), is perfect for short girls.  Order a size (or even a couple sizes) down to have it sit at the waist.
