Ripped

I have a complicated relationship with ripped denim. When I was in junior high school, I thought ripped  (probably Abercrombie or Hollister) jeans were the coolest. It would take forever for them to wear out just right. However, as soon as they would rip, my mom would deem these as unacceptable and put them into the goodwill pile.  

So now, I have an aversion to ripped denim.  When I am perusing denim, I halfway feel (as my mother did/does) that I shouldn't spend money on something that is already destroyed. 

I got these jeans from Goodwill (full circle), thinking that I shouldn't feel guilty if they are only six bucks. However, being from Goodwill, they are far from the perfectly ripped and stonewashed denim that I am looking for...perhaps I should attack them with some bleach as well, and squeeze the remaining life they have out of them.

Zebra

For whatever reason, I am not as into skirts as I used to be.  I always feel a little twee wearing them (skater skirts in particular). But now that it is heating up, I will probably get comfortable wearing them again by necessity.  I am a huge wimp in the heat. I wilt, but Whitney's favorite temperature is above 75.

I never thought a pair of leopard skinnies could feel so essential. Now that I have them, I don't know what I used to wear.  These are the only black pants I own, and they are perfect - midrise and just the right amount of stretch. I might buy a second pair in anticipation of me wearing these ones to death. :x

An Ode to Sochi

Decided to sport my jogger pants from H&M to celebrate my excitement for the Winter Olympics (figure skating is my favorite sport to watch!).  Sorry if I look a little sloppy here, although, how appropriate...the Sochi games seem like a mess right now.

This week we met with a couple of Stanford design students to talk about a bag they had designed. At one point, they asked us what we had in our bags that day. Whitney had luckily just cleaned hers out, but I had 6 months of CVS receipts squirreled away.  I always stuff them in my bag with the intention of using the coupons later...but I neither go to CVS often enough to redeem, nor do I use the same bag consistently, so they just stay in my bags for eternity...I think they were horrified. They even took a photo.

Doing what we do best: cheesing in matching outfits.  Since we were hanging our jackets off our shoulders, Whit accidentally grabbed Mal's "arm," which was actually the sleeve of her jacket.  We thought it would be funny to repeat the moment, which explains the 4th photo.

We currently will wear sweatshirt anything.  They're so comfortable and are so perfect for accessorizing.  We love looking fancy in pajamas!

It's been a tough month guys.  Between doing an internship, working full time, and taking a night class for the past year, I've been more confused than ever about life.  Recently I took the first step to put an end to all this madness.  I made a decision that I felt was right, but I'm scared to death of all the uncertainty that comes along with it.  Trying really hard to stay positive here!

The weather was perfect on Monday, so we were happy to be out and about shooting with Mal's brother and girlfriend (who both have photography skills that dwarf our own).  We haven't been able to take photos together in a long while, so we were grateful that they were able to come visit and shoot!
